The Misamis University-Philippines, invites you to participate in the 1st International Conference on Social Sciences (IConSS) 2026: A Hybrid Conference in Misamis University, H. T. Feliciano St., Ozamiz City, Philippines on October 16-17, 2026, with the theme, “Redefining the Social Sciences for Sustainable Development: Current Trends, Emerging Issues, and Future Pathways”.

This conference provides a dynamic platform for interdisciplinary dialogue, collaborative problem-solving, and cutting-edge research across diverse fields, including sociology, anthropology, political science, psychology, education, economics, criminal justice, public health, language studies, communication, environmental studies, gender studies, social work, urban planning, cultural studies, international relations, law, and information studies. Emphasis is placed on how these disciplines contribute to advancing the SDGs—particularly in areas such as quality education, gender equality, reduced inequalities, sustainable cities and communities, peace, justice, and strong institutions.

IConSS 2026 fosters meaningful knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovative, evidence-based solutions to contemporary social challenges. Participants are encouraged to explore new perspectives, methodologies, and applications that directly support sustainable development and inclusive growth. By bringing together diverse disciplines and global perspectives, the conference aims to deepen understanding, inspire transformative ideas, and contribute to sustainable, equitable, and resilient societies.

Note: Accepted papers and posters for presentation without payment before the deadline will not be considered for the conference.

Presentation Guidelines


Virtual/Inperson Paper Presentation Mechanics

• The presenter is given 15 minutes for the presentation, which is usually interactive, followed by a Q & A for 5 minutes. Although the presentation will be delivered in Powerpoint Presentation with a maximum of 25 slides, reading from slides is highly discouraged.


Poster Presentation Mechanics

A poster (page form) should present valuable information and contain text, drawing and pictures. Poster dimension (width 3 ft. x 4 ft. length), portrait orientation.

Criteria for accepting abstracts


Criteria for Best Paper Awards

The submission of the final paper is necessary for the selection of Best Conference Papers based on the following criteria: Academic Significance (25%); Contribution to the Community (25%); Technical Novelty (20%), Quality of Information (25%); and Language Usage (5%).


Criteria for Best Presenter

Originality and Creativity 20%; Organization (Logical presentation of ideas) 20%; Presentation (Oral presentation and delivery) 20%; Knowledge of Material (Familiarity with subject matter) 20%; Neatness (Neatness of charts, pictures, and graphs) 10%; and Overall Presentation 10%.


Criteria for Best Poster

Depth of Content 40%; Content knowledge and organization 25%; Poster Design and Overall Visual Appeal 20%; Verbal Interaction 15%.
